The Prestige Club’s Rick Case Classic Golf Tournament Raises $40,000.00
The Prestige Club, a non-profit organization held their Annual Rick Case Golf Classic at Inverrary Golf Club. One hundred Fifty (150) players enjoyed a beautiful Florida Day in the sun and raised One Hundred Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000).
One of the miracles of the day was a young man by the name of Jimmy Crews. Jimmy was involved in a horrific auto accident four years ago. The paramedics could not belief that a human being had survived this horrible accident. After the accident, there wasn't much hope for this young man who was an avid sports person in the prime of his life. The prognosis, “no sports, no walking, inability to move, and/or speak. Jimmy did not accept this horrific prognosis and decided to beat the odds. Jimmy’s determination and will to excel included daily physical therapy and speech therapy. With discipline, a passion for life, and relentless dedication, he started to stand with minimal assistance. A couple of weeks after, he started using crutches, a walker followed and now a cane. The Prestige Club sponsored Jimmy in the New York Marathon with his hand crank bike. Jimmy came in Second Place and thereafter went to Miami to break the record coming in Second Place too.
He has now been asked to go to Boston and Poland. The Prestige Club made Jimmy an Honorary Member, and he proudly wears The Prestige Club T-Shirt along with the logo of The Prestige Club on his bike in these competitions. As the plans of the Annual Golf Tournament were being made, Jimmy asked to participate and play in the Tournament. With all the challenges waiting for him in the golf course and his inability to walk, he went to the driving range to practice standing, swinging, and playing golf. On numerous occasions, Jimmy unable to stand without a cane, fell to the ground. Nevertheless, he got up and went on practicing for hours. At the end of the tournament, his final putt won a first prize for his team.
